Far-away nuptials becoming increasingly popular

More often than ever before, couples have been saying their vows in locations no where near their homes. An article in Forbes Traveler cited a statistic from The Conde Nast Bridal Group that roughly 16 percent of all first marriage ceremonies are held in faraway places, while that's the case for an astonishing 60 percent of second marriages.

The publication suggests that the trend is supported in part by the fact that the cost of a wedding in an exotic destination can actually be significantly cheaper than one in a major city like New York or Los Angeles. Additionally, the ways that soulmates meet these days are very different from how they used to.

"It's rare that a boy marries the girl next door," Quentin Carmichael Jr., President of DestinationWeddings.com, explained to Forbes. "These days you're much more likely to meet your spouse at college or while making a career move to a new city. If the bride is from New York and the groom is from California, an easy choice for a destination wedding is Mexico, enabling both families to meet in the middle."

The typical destination for a remote wedding is a beach locale, such as Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and Oahu, Hawaii. For those who aren't particularly fond of sandy waterfronts, the source indicated that Ireland, Scotland and Italy are popular.

Couples who are making the arrangements for their special day and are looking for a stretch limousine can end their search right now by referring to Hermes Worldwide to request a quote.
